Festival Lights - The Songs of Nick Keir
The Quiggs with Sangsters and Dick Gaughan
Nick Keir, the Edinburgh folksinger and songwriter, left us too early in 2013 however he left a great legacy of his own lovely songs. At tonight's concert some of his folk friends will gather in his memory to sing Nick's songs - including Dick Gaughan, Sangsters and The Quiggs. The whole night is being produced by Nick's best mate, Alastair. All the proceeds from what promises to be a terrific show will be donated to Cancer Research.

The Friel Sisters
Anna, Sheila and Clare Friel are Glasgow born and raised but with deep family roots in the Donegal Gaeltacht. Their repertoire comprises music and songs in English and Irish, many from their family repertoire. Being siblings, they achieve a close blend on fiddle, flute and uilleann pipes. The trio has performed across Europe, America and Asia appearing on stage with acts such as Altan, The Chieftains and Sharon Shannon. This year, they bring you their brand new album 'Before the Sun', (4-stars, Irish Times). Clare is TG4's Ireland's Young Musician of the Year 2018 (see https://www.tg4.ie/en/programmes/gradam-ceoil/gradam-ceoil-home/).

Harry Cullen
Harry has been a stalwart of the Edinburgh folk scene since the early 70's and as a member of the Garvies, Town Choice and the Kinsmen he performed throughout Scotland. Eventually Harry decided to come off the road and get a 'proper job' so some may know him better as the 'friendly' landlord of the Oxford Bar. There he dispenses the odd insult but loves entertaining his regulars and visitors, with spontaneous Monday afternoon jamming sessions. So he's never really stopped singing and today his live performances are a great combination of traditional and contemporary music.

Heart n Soul
Billy Jones
Fiery Celtic blues'n'rock'n'roll. Scottish singer-songwriter-guitarist Billy is back for his 10th Fringe appearance with songs from "Roy on the Hill" (2017), his 10th and latest record release (all his own compositions). The show will also feature old favourites of course, traditional and original. Billy (vocals, guitar) is backed by Swedish musicians Jonas Liljeström (fiddle), Jens Bach Kristensen (banjo, mandolin, whistles), Emily Brown Solberg (vocals) plus Eve Atkinson (fiddle) from Scotland. After thousands of gigs in Europe and America, Billy - now long-time resident in Sweden, working under band-name Slàinte - is bringing it all back home.
